bringing the centuries old art of henna into the modern world.

WHAT IS HENNA?

Henna or ‘mehndi’ has been traditionally used for celebrations across many countries in the world. Be it to adorn a bride and her guests at a wedding or for religious occasions, people have fallen in love with the ability to express and decorate yourself in body art.

Henna powder is formed from the plant Lawsonia Inermis. The powder is usually mixed with water, essential oil and sugar to create a paste which is applied directly to the skin. After six to eight hours you can remove the dried paste to reveal a stain which starts as a bright pumpkin orange and develops to a rich mahogany brown.

The styles of henna are endless and in recent times henna has grown in different ways; the traditional Indian designs full of flowers and paisleys, Fessi henna from Morocco with intricate lines, Khaleeji henna from the Gulf regions with their flowing vines and deep stained bold patterns from Africa.

There is a style to suit everyone’s taste, we’re sure you’ll find something you love.

MEET THE ARTIST

“I started henna at the age of 12 after seeing my cousins in Pakistan painting each others hands. I picked up my first cone and little did I know that I would fall in love with this art and it would become such a big part of my life.

From doodling on friends in science class, to being an amateur artist in sixth form and painting the students in the common room - I’ve since adorned many brides, worked with magazines, taken part in exclusive corporate events and become an award winning artist.

To date I have met incredible people in the industry and amazing clients that make me want to do so much more.

Here’s a sneak peek into my world. I hope you adore it as much as I do.
